The Coachhouse was originally built in 1857 as a carriage house as part of the adjoining Ottery Farm now renamed Ottery House. It was designed by the Duke of Bedford, who owned extensive estates in the area, to form part of a 'model farm'. In 1988 the building was sold and the previous owners, Ed and Merl Stevens renovated it and turned it into a family home and later converted it to a small hotel.

The hotel has free Wi-fi available in the bar and lounge and most of the bedrooms in the main building. There is a well stocked bar, lounge and restaurant which is south facing and overlooks a sunken walled garden created from a dilapidated barn. The Coachhouse has rooms with single and double size beds available. We also provide family rooms be sure to ring us for details. Prices can be found by using the price page in the bookings section. Take this lane and stay on it for two miles where you will come to the village sign for Ottery, carry on until you are almost out of the other end of the village and you will see the Coachhouse Hotel on your left and the carpark on your right.
